A flash flood warning remains in place for parts of Queensland and northern New South Wales after the Gold Coast was drenched by more than 200 millimetres of rain within hours on Saturday morning, with motorists already needing to be rescued from rising waters. The intense deluge soaked roads, caught out drivers, and caused widespread inundation across low-lying areas.
