The rising price of petrol has been matched by a sharp increase in the use of public transport, with new figures showing thousands of residents are swapping their cars for trains and buses to ease the impact on household budgets. Data obtained by 7NEWS reveals that in mid-February, before the war broke out, there were 2.3 million weekday trips across Sydney’s public transport network.
